CIY: Bow Part 2 – Bow tie!

This CIY is seriously the easiest project EVER!  When I say easy, I mean you could literally make this 5 minutes before you head out for the night (that is if you have silk fabric on hand).  Even those who think they have no creative skills can CIY this cute little bow tie.

Supplies:

-1/8 of a yard of silk fabric

– Scissors

– Lighter

{Step 1}:  Snip your silk about an inch (or more) from the end of you silk fabric. Make your snip about an inch long.

{Step 2}: Take the two pieces of snipped fabric and start to rip them apart.  This will cause the ends of your fabric to roll and eliminate fraying.  Keep ripping until you get to the end of your fabric.

{Step 3}: Make another inch snip about 1.5 inches from the nice rolled side of your fabric.

Your fabric should look like the below fabric. Now, cut the ends of your fabric at an angle(like you did in the first bow CIY) and run a lighter over the edges so the silk does not fray.

Take your strip of fabric and tie it around your neck into a nice little bow. There you have it, the quickest CIY!
