CIY: Gold Geometric Earrings

I was looking at my inspiration earrings and decided I could not choose just one to create.  So, I decided to take two of the earring designs and marry them together!

I really liked the look of the pyramid shaped earrings and the finish of the round faceted earrings.  So, the combo of these two earrings is what inspired my CIY.

This was pretty easy, and who doesn’t love a clay project? Clearly, I do!

{Step 2}: Pinch your ball in half so you have two equal sizes of clay. Roll your clay between your hands forming an oval shape.  When your oval is about a half an inch long, press the bottom of it into your table, while forming a tip at the end.

{Step 3}: Use your fingers to “pinch” the sides of your clay, continuing to form a triangle. Once you have the basic shape of the triangle, lightly press each side of your clay on your table to help smooth and flatten out your clay. Then, bake your clay according to the directions on your clay packaging. Once finished, let your clay cool.

{Step 4}: Take your paint and put a layer of gold paint on your clay. Let the paint dry. Add as many additional coats of paint you need to completely cover your clay.

{Step 5}: Once your paint is dry, put Super Glue on your earring base.  Then, glue your clay to the earring back.  Let the glue dry.
