CIY: Windowpane Print Sweater

I was really inspired by all of the windowpane fashion from Monday’s post.  My eye was really drawn to the white sweater with the windowpane print sleeves.  So cute and classy! Thanks, Wendy from Wendy’s Lookbook for the lovely inspiration! I was so excited to get this project started that I grabbed an old black cardigan I had lying around and went to town!

Supplies:

– Sweater

– Windowpane print fabric (I bought my from Fishman’s Fabrics)

– Black thread

– Seam ripper

– Scissors

– Straight pins

– Sewing machine

{Step 2}:  Take your seam ripper and remove your sleeve from you sweater.  You will want to go all the way around the armpit area first to remove the entire sleeve. Once the sleeve is removed, you will want to rip the seam out all the way down the entire sleeve.  Repeat this step on your other sleeve.

{Step 5}: After you sew your sleeve together, you will want to finish off the end (i.e. where your sweater hits your wrist).  Slightly fold the end over, then over again, and pin.  Sew around the end finishing it off.  Repeat this step on the other sleeve.
