Do you have an ugly, outdated vase, or one that just doesn’t match your decor anymore? Don’t toss it, give it a fancy little makeover to completely change the look of it!
A few years ago, I fell in love with Mercury glass. This splotchy, rustic look was very trendy at the time, and I (like most) had bought one of these vases for my home. I don’t hate the look now, however, I was feeling it was time for a change since I get bored pretty quickly with rooms/accessories in my house. I blame this disease on my mom. She is constantly changing and updating rooms in her home, what feels like every other year. Believe me, I totally get where she is coming from. My dad, on the other hand, does not.
Even though I wasn’t feeling the the look of the Mercury glass anymore (especially the black wire wrapped around it), I still liked the overall shape of the vase and wanted to try and reuse it in another room in my house. I decided to go a nice neutral color with gold accents for my new vase. I still find it quite funny that me of all people would love gold as much as I do! The Martha Stewart Decoupage Metallic Details really made this transformation super easy. I did not have to punch anything out; the designs were all ready to go!
