Every year I decide to add a little bit more to my Christmas Decor and this year is no different. I wanted to switch things up a bit and instead of using the message board I had on display last year, I wanted to create a sign that said “Merry Christmas”. I used the Walnut Hallow Floral Wreath Sign and decided to think outside of the box. (more…)

We have officially entered the holiday season. Trees are going up, mantles are getting dressed and the hunt for the perfect gift has started. With all of the planning and prep that goes into the holiday season, it can be the most stressful time of the year. We all manage to add an enormous amount of items to our to-do list before December 25th. It’s hands-down the busiest time of the year! (more…)

I’ve been putting together a list of holiday decor I want to make this year. Every single year I somehow manage to have an ever-growing list of project ideas and high hopes that I’ll actually complete all of them. This year, I’m getting a head start on my Christmas crafting with this DIY Silver Matte Metallic Snowflake Candle Holder! (more…)

The leaves around here have really been putting on a show. It feels like every single tree is trying so hard to outdo its neighbor with even more vibrant leaves. I’ve enjoyed watching the leaf changing process. I swear it’s like every single leaf changed colors over night! (more…)

Now that Halloween is over, most people have dove head first into Christmas. I personally think it’s way too early. Don’t get me wrong, I’m OBSESSED with Christmas, but I like to celebrate holidays one at a time. I’m not down with getting my Christmas tree up until the day AFTER Thanksgiving–and no sooner!
In an effort to embrace Thanksgiving, I’e decided instead of moving straight to Christmas that I would do a couple of projects dedicated to this Fall holiday. I just feel bad for Thanksgiving since it’s become the forgotten holiday. (more…)

When I was younger my mom made my Halloween costumes. When I got older, I made my own Halloween costumes. To keep the tradition alive, I’ve made Tommy and Evie’s Halloween costumes that last two years. I figure I have to hold on to this tradition as long as I can because one year they’re going to decide on what they want to be and I may have to purchase it from the store! Tear. :( (more…)

Halloween season is here! To most, I’m probably super behind on getting my decorations up. Many people in my ‘hood have had their pumpkins and ghosts on display since the first of September. Me, I just can’t get behind Halloween decor when it’s 85 degrees out and my flowers still look amazing! It just seems wrong to hack down beautiful flowers that are at the peak of the season, only to replace them with Mums. So, I waited until about October 4th to really hit the Halloween holiday hard. (more…)

I haven’t really worked much with leather, but I am always so impressed with the projects I see that incorporate leather pieces. I wanted to try an easy leather project, so I ended up going with this super easy DIY leather tassel keychain!
Tassels are still a very popular accessory. You can find these fun little frillies on necklaces, handbags, bracelets, shoes, and so much more! I wanted to create a tassel out of leather that would dangle from my keys. I am not really sure where my original key chain went, so the timing of this project was perfect! My keys were (more…)

A couple of months back I was out and about doing some alley trolling since it felt like it had been forever since I found an alley treasure. My initial reason for poking around other people’s garbage was to see if I could get lucky and find some used Little Tikes pieces. These plastic toys are great since they can be washed up and are basically good as new! (more…)

Living in a very tech-centered world means everything we do is done digitally/electronically. We send emails instead of regular mail, we keep track of important meetings and dates on our digital calendars, and we even get directions from our smartphones instead of using a paper map. Being so digitally driven is nice and all, but sometimes it’s nice to go back to the basics when everything was much simpler.
There is nothing better than sitting down with a cup of coffee or tea and jotting down your to-dos for the day. There is something to be said about physically writing an idea down as opposed to typing it into a phone, laptop, or tablet. It is so fulfilling to cross off each to-do once it has been completed. Having a notebook on hand is also a (more…)
